How important is your home builder's Credibility?
Main / Idaho Real Estate Insights

Vital. Every element of the company is hinged on it!

Is your builder credible? Credibility is something that can be displayed but is not visible. Credibility is an aspect of a company that can be argued beyond a reasonable doubt with all kinds of proof but you still could have doubts.

Credibility is so important to your decision as to whom you decide to build your home but the decision lies only in you. There is no magic bullet anyone can provide you in deciding. Credibility is different for every home buyer.

Is this some philosophical discussion? Not at all, well maybe. Here is the point. There are different aspects to discovering your builder's credibility but home buyers place different values on them. You have to decide what is most important. Here is a list of some credibility factors-

  • How long has the builder been in business?
  • What training, education or certification have they received?
  • How many homes have they built?
  • Can they provide a list of satisfied clients you may call?
  • Do you like and trust the builder?
  • What is the warranty provided?
  • Review their contract with your lawyer.
  • What awards have they received?
  •  Who are their subcontractors? Are they credible. Note every builder believe they are the best and have the best subcontractors. Of course, if they did not believe that they would not be in business.
  • How involved are they involved in the industry? BCA, BBB or Chamber of Commerce.
