Where did you grow up?
I grew up near Tampa, Florida. My life there was all about the beach whenever I wasn’t in school or working. I guess you couldn’t really call it a secret, but the white sandy beaches of West Florida are some of the most beautiful in the world!
How long have you lived in Idaho?
I moved to Idaho in 2004 from Fort Worth, Texas. Idaho was not a place on my bucket list of places to live but a former colleague of mine asked me to interview for a job up here and I took him up on it. Since then I’m pretty sure people have been sure I went to work for the Chamber of Commerce in Boise! I honestly don’t know of a place in America that is it’s equal. The cost of living is so reasonable, we enjoy four great seasons, and whether you want a vibrant city lifestyle, quiet suburban neighborhood, or your own private Idaho in the country, you’ll find it nearby here in what we call the Treasure Valley!
Where is your favorite place to visit in Idaho?
This really isn’t an easy question to give one answer to, but I’ll have to pick the Bogus Basin Recreation Area. Every year there is more to do here, my favored activity would be snowboarding with my family, but it also offers Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, mountain biking, they can host your event in any season…etc, etc, etc…check it out!
Where do you go for a great meal?
Well, I’m blessed to have wonderful meals at home made by my wife Lisa, but when we go out we really enjoy “Fork” in downtown Boise. They specialize in using locally sourced ingredients, and it’s really a cozy atmosphere. Gino’s in Meridian is another great treat. Some of the best Italian food in the valley and their hospitality knows no equal.
What is your greatest strength?
Everyone is unique! I try to really get to know each person I meet. It’s my belief that each person has a slightly, or even greatly different way of finding what they are looking for. My job is to listen well enough to help you find what you desire, when sometimes you aren’t even sure exactly what that is!
