Ada County, ID
Established December 22, 1864, Ada County, named after Ada Riggs, who was the first pioneer child born in the area. Ada was the daughter of H. C. Riggs who was one of the founders of Boise and a member of the Idaho Territorial Legislature. Boise became the capital of Idaho in 1865.
Ada County land area: 1,060 square miles.
Population density: 327 people per square mile
The Snake River Birds of Prey Area is in the southeast corner of Ada County.
