2 of the 3 Questions feared most by home builders

What question is your builder most afraid of getting from prospective buyers? I asked Steve Martinez of Tradewinds Building Co. and past President of the BCA, it seems like information he would know. This is an interview that was actually done in June 2009

One of the points he made was price per square, which is something everyone in the industry is opposed to because the statement assumes the playing field is equal. It does not take into account quality, service, and other facets of construction that cannot be touched. For example, if you need a warranty, which is almost a guarantee, how will the builder respond? How quickly and how long to get it resolved? How much is that worth?

On the flip side, I agree you have to shop and verify that price being offered is relevant to other quotes. Choosing a credible builder is very important.
