What style of homes do you find in Idaho?

What is Idaho's style? There are ranch homes, townhomes, condominiums, and many types of homes that come in all kinds of styles from Old World, French Country to Modern. But what style is Idaho?

I often hear people say how much better homes are where they are from but that has as much validity as saying that all the California drivers in Idaho are terrible. To be fair, we don't build to earthquake or tornado standards, but we don't have to.

Builders build what people are asking for and what they believe will sell. Many subdivisions have standards; for example, currently stone facia is popular, at least for a portion of the exterior siding. One thing that Idaho is not known for is Row Housing. This is normally production builders who just replicate a floorplan down the street. This is normally done to produce many homes quickly and cheaply. I have heard that people do not like these homes because no one's home is unique.

Renovare, a modern community in Eagle ID

If you are looking to buy a home one way to find your style is helping an agent understand what you are looking for, even if it is just the best house for your money. Many subdivisions tend to have themes. For example, Bella Terra has an old-world charm. Renovare is a very modern waterfront community.
