In spite of its size, Boise is home to a large and growing beer brewing scene. This is due in part to Idaho being one of the largest producers of hops in the country, as well as the city's increasing popularity. Considering the Pacific Northwest is a hotspot for brewing and microbrewing, it makes sense that Boise would join in on the fun. Boise is home to 15 local breweries. There is a lot going on during the holiday season in Boise and the Treasure Valley. Boise, Eagle, Nampa, Meridian, and Caldwell have Christmas and holiday events starting the week of Thanksgiving and going through New Year’s Eve.

It’s a well-known fact that Boise is growing, both in size and popularity. A large part of the city’s growth is due to large national companies that were founded and based in Boise or had moved here because of the economic opportunities. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, more than 10,000 jobs were created in the Treasure Valley in 2018, and the unemployment rate stayed at 3% for 9 months straight. That’s 1.4% less than the national average! Here is a list of the 10 largest companies in Boise that have their headquarters here.

The Boise Bench is a beautiful and vibrant section of Boise. The area is defined by Federal Way to the east, Interstate 84 to the South, and Interstate 184 (the Connector) to the west. It’s called the Boise Bench because it sits above the valley floor where most of the city lies. The Bench contains a variety of homes and subdivisions that have been built over the course of decades.
