Many people want to be their own general contractor and manage the building of their home. It is a great idea. Think of the money you will save putting many of the 90 thousand parts together on your home. One problem- what if it does not go as planned? And guess what, it won't go as planned!

Many times people choose the a builder on how much they like the person. Wake up! This is not about choosing a friend, though it can happen. Iit is about choosing someone with credibility. Someone who has a track record of success and accountability.

Finding a great builder is about credibility? What is their experience? Where are they currently building and how many homes have they built in the last 18 months? Are they financially stable? Of course, non of this matters if they are not a Registered Contractor. Idaho does not currently having licensing.
