Third Quarter New Construction Survey Results/ Real Estate Barometer

A continued increase in approved subdivisions and unoccupied spec homes favors consumers as fewer new home sales boost inventory and slow pace of home prices. The Subdivision Quarterly, a survey of the new construction market, is an industry resource that tracks active new subdivisions and records data on vacant lots, housing starts and available spec homes. Added to this information is MLS data on new and existing home sales and prices. Taken together, this data forms a set of metrics, the Real Estate Barometer (REBAR).
