Work with your builder on a plan to secure your construction site as soon as possible. Otherwise, you'll be a target of vandalism.

There hasn't been much news to report on the construction project as my family and I have been in and out of the Valley these past few weeks because of planned time off and vacation from work.

While we were away this past week, we found out our construction site became the target of vandalism as kids (most likely) decided our new home construction site would make a great battleground for a paintball war.  We weren't here to see much of the damage, but evidence of their shenanigans is present on some of the windows.  Some sheet rock was hit by stray paintballs, but it has since been covered with primer by contractors who have been working the past couple weeks on tape, texture and some trim.  It's hardly noticable unless you know where to look.

The lesson learned is to establish a clear plan with your builder on the soonest you can secure your construction site with temporary doors and locks.  People are curious and kids are mischevious on unattended sites.  We had a security plan in place, but apparently the vandals got in before the locks could be installed.
