Is your ATTIC HOT!!!! Main The Durable Green Home
with the hot weather alot of people are thinking cooling now, and attic ventilation has always been a big question for everyone. I can tell you about 99.9 homes out of 100 don't have enough ventilation ( most not even 1/2) and most ventilation does not work. who to call.....

start by calling On Point 407-5414 for ventilation in southwest idaho. not only have we been providing consulting for ventilation ( so we can calulate the required area ) but we also install the ventilation as well. we now are the distributor for the Attic Breeze solar attic fan. Most solar attic fans homeowners purchase are not powerful enough or durrable enough for any benefit. Attic Breeze fans offer lifetime warranty, powerful fans, and solar to boot. So not only can we provide the right ventilation for a home, but it is free power, qualifies for federal tax incentive, and will be installed right. call for a quote 407-5414. Lowering attic temperatures from the average ( 130-160 degrees ) to 5-10 degrees over outside air temperature can make a huge difference in cooling your home and the performance of an ac system. On Point can also provide energy audit and other energy related consulting at the same time as an attic evaluation. take advantage of the incentives now- can qualify for up to 30% of install and purchase price!!

Re:Is your ATTIC HOT!!!!
I changed my attic fan around this spring (long explainantion) and the results are obvious. I have a tri-level and I still need to get the other part of the house. Glad to see you postng again, we missed your wisdom.

Glad you are looking at and talking about that, I will send you over the data I gathered on the inches of air flow past the foam baffles. It is scarry how few baffles are being put in some of the homes out there.
Each full foam baffle only gives you 25.5 square inches of air flow. If you take the square footage of the house attic times .019 it will give you the number of full baffles you need to get the 1 square foot per 300 square foot of attic space.

Re:Is your ATTIC HOT!!!!
great comment steve, you are so right. this is one reason I have been a beleiver in continuous soffit and ridge vent for some time. Of course like you indicated every bay should be baffled not just every 10 or 12 feet like we see in most homes if that. some manafactuers like Certainteed actually design their soffit panels with ventilation holes and then size the Air vent ridge vent to provide the propper venting taking the guess work out of it. Not that they are the only ones that work, but these coorigated plastic roll out vents are garbage. gotta have somethign with significant air flow area. thanks for the comments look forward to the info.
