North end home certified Platnum USGBC LEED for Homes Main The Durable Green Home
Way cool Just got fomral word North end home12th and Heron just awarded LEED Platnum by the USGBC. this was a great example of a Green home in Boise's North End neighborhood. you might think platnum level is hard but not so..

Homeowner Karen Midkiff and Jason Quinn wanted to build a green home and have it certified, i don't think they or even myself had the vision of LEED Platnum but it was esasier than we all thought. no PV, or features that would really drive the cost up. home is energy star certified, has some advanced foam insualtion to condition the attic, heating and cooling is done with mini split heat pumps in conditioned space by Western Heating, drought tollerant landscape, steel roof ( hard in north end) home tested out great on energy effciency, healthy and enviromentally preffered products inside the home-but not over the top, cabinets built by sustainabilt her in Boise, water efficient fixtures, energy saving lights and appliances, and excellent building contractor Corey Quinn of Quinn Builds, Energy star testing done by Momentum LLC-Matt Vandermeer. overall this was just a great job of building a home with attention to detail, it was the little things that got this home to platnum!! more to come on this home and many more in next couple months!
