First Multi family Energy Star and LEED H certified building-Platnum no less!! Main The Durable Green Home
just got word back from USGBC Thomas Developement project in Chubbucl Idaho Cardona Senior Housing project certified at platnum level for the USGBC LEED for Homes program!! Also the fist Energy Star Certified buidling in the state! certified by ON Point LLC yours truly-exciting. what did it take to get there? less than you think

So i can hear the nay sayers now, " they must have spent lots of extra money to do that" well the answer is really no, just smart building practices, drought tolerant landscape, CFL lighting, advanced framing, extra insulation, radon control, High Performance tested building and duct work, ducts in conditioned space, good windows, location was great, low flow fixtures, energy star appliances, co alarm, and some good products supporting local economy.

what-no solar, gray water, compositing toilets? NO, just good building practices that actually saved money on one side so they could do some of the right things on the other side. Oh did i mention they recycled over 90% of the waste, and i might add it was one of the cleanest construction sites i have been on. we all learned some lessons that will make their next buildings even better and less expensive, Congratulations to a company that really wants to do things right and make a difference. WAY TO GO. Hats off to Idaho!
