Are ready for a new home? Are you going to buy something that is ready to move into or build a custom home? Main Idaho Real Estate Insights
Buying a model home, customizing a successful floor plan by a Boise Builder or building a custom home may also determine the re-sellability of your home.

Boise Idaho New Homes for SaleWhen you buy a home, already built and ready to move into, you are getting a home that is built to sell. It may be beautful but production builders understand that the more custom they make it, the fewer buyers that will buy it? They may make a really good impression on some buyers by adding style but they may also turn others off? Building a home can be a big gamble for builders that decide to add more design to a home as opposed to going with the standard cream wall and carpet. Also by limiting the amount of upgrades and landscaping, the builder reduces the price.

Adding colors, unique finishes. unique designs and other design options or amenities are the start to giving a home personality and making it beautiful. For builders though, the more designs it has or amenities may also turn buyers away. While the builder or their interior designer may want to make the carpet a specific color like burgundy or add a water feature to the landscape, it now starts to take more defined shape that may turn some potential buyers away. Their hope of course is that it will turn some buyers on and separate their home from others.

What should you learn from this. If you are building a home, how custom should you go? If you plan to be in the home for a long time- make it as custom as you want but if this home is just going to be a stepping stone in the path of your life, you may want to be more conservative. Adding amenities increases the price and each customization reduces the # of people that your home will appeal to when you go to sell it.
