Boise Idaho Home Buying tips

  1. Think about your long term goals and how a new home fits those goals. Will it work in five years ifBoise Idaho Home Builders you have another member of the family, kids start leaving or you retire. What type of home should it be? How will the home loan affect your budget? What do you really qualify for – not what the bank will qualify you for on paper but add all those extraneous costs on as well. What do you expect the monthly energy bills to be.
  2. Search…a lot. Part of your search should include networking. There are many successful Idaho builders and many of them have beautiful model homes to look at – take advantage of that to see everything they have to offer. Get cost estimates for realistic pricing.  Use Build Idaho to know all the builders out there! Enlist help from Boise Realtors, friends and family. What style and options do you really need – put together your wish list- needs and wants.
  3. There is an abundance of paperwork involved in buying a new home but it protects both you and the seller. Ask questions if you are not clear on something before you sign. But above all – keep your copies!
  4. Talk to Boise Home Loan specialists and learn the best programs out there to suit your needs. Many Boise home builders have preferred lenders they like to work with and that’s not a bad thing.  That lender will be very familiar with the builder’s practices and needs and be able to keep your loan on target.
  5. Have some fun! Don’t try to see every new home there is out there for you in one or two days. Buying or building a new home takes a lot of time and due diligence. Take pictures or write notes as you’re visiting models so you can remember the highlights of each place andnotes on the builder.
