Buying a home is the biggest decision most of us will ever make. It should not be taken lightly and nor should the people helping you!

Idaho Real Estate Advice:

You Deserve Extraordinary Real Estate Services

Here are four things to consider when buying a home-

  1. You can choose whom to work with!
If they are not a good fit for your or not giving you 100%- fire them.
  2. Most people realize that real estate agents are paid commissions.
That means that someone who starts today possibly gets paid the same as someone who has been in it for 20 years. This also means you can hire a veteran of the industry, someone who is a success or be someone's training. Get the most for your money and hire the best, whether you are a buyer or seller.
  3. This is real life not an episode on HGTV.
Your agent takes direction from you. They provide advice and insights but it is their job to watch your best interests. If they are trying to be your friend, you may not be getting it straight up. It is hard to give friends bad news or tell them they are making a bad decision. If it is all business and you have a professional relationship, it works better.
  4. It is an emotional decision
While finding the right home is an emotional decision, buying a home is business. Let's face it, if buying a home was about money, we'd all own a trailer, possibly the best price per square foot out there! A home is about convenience, family, taste, enjoyment, sharing, relaxation and pride. While these may trigger buying signals for buyers when it is time to buy, emotions should not be part of the decision. Unless you are looking for something that is so specific that there are literally only a few options, emotions will not help. MOst of are looking and if the home you want is not  available today, keep looking.
