Ten Reasons Meridian Idaho is so Popular Main Idaho Real Estate Insights

There was a time when Meridian was considered a far ways from Boise but now adays the two have melded together. While Boise will probably always be the economic hub of the valley, Meridian has become very popular. Wonder why?

Here are Ten Reasons Meridian Idaho is thriving!

1. Great Local Leadership

Meridian is challenged with growth from all angles. New Developments increasing population and creating traffic. New homes with more families looking for the quality education the area has a great reputation for. New businesses looking to provide services in this pro-growth area. With all these challenges the local government has been pro-active and includisive of the locals in their governing and decision making.

2. Strong Business Climate

Meridian has always been the center of the valley but with businesses like Scentsy as well as many others, businesses are finding that growing their business here is a good move. The Village has been a powerful addition inlcuding all the shops and services like Big Al's. What's next? We know that a new Costco is coming to Linder and Chinden. There also is a big piece of ground across from The Village that many have their eye on! There is talk of many other new businesses plus all the people moving here either bringing their business, work or looking for a job.

3. Sports & Clubs

There is great access to a number of sports for any age. For youth there is PAL (Police Activities League) which offers baseball, soccer, flag football and football. The City of Meridian offers Meridian Youth Sports and also actvities for adults like softball, baseball and volleyball. There are a number of business that offer training, exercise like  Cross Training and weight lifting. There are bicycle clubs, runner and motorcycle clubs.  If that is not enough, find a group on Meetup.com.

4. Settlers Park

While this is a a busy place on weekends, especially with sports, it is much more than that. Check out the kid play ground including the summer when the water park is open. Enjoy fishing in the pond. Play some tennis or enjoy the sumer movie on Friday Nights. There are also a number of specialty events. This past summer there was a Food Truck night for example.

5. Great Medical Services

We have great local medical services and it is going to get more competitive with the newly announced hospital coming to Chinden at Hwy 16. There are also a number of specialty services like chirporatic doctors and several walk-in medical care facilites. Also, this year we started a new medical school, the first new one in decades; Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine, part of Idaho State University. It offers a state of the art facility and we have only just begin to see the economic injection this will have on the local community and the state of Idaho as the students go out to become part of smaller communities to finish their schooling.

6. Big Activities

Have you ever driven west on I84 and looked at the mass of people enjoy the water at Roaring Springs? How about putt-putt golf at Wahooz which now offers so much more including bowling. Have you heard the thunder coming from the middle of town in the summer at Meridian Speedway? These attractions have been around a long time and are traditions to take advantage of.

7. West Ada School District

Another example of great leadership and forward thinking. The state also has been pushing their agenda of better results as well and it is showing! Are these schools perfect? No but parents are pleased with what they are getting out of the kids.

8. Location, Location, Location

Are you headed north, south, east or west? Either way you are centrally located to the rest of the valley. Jump on the interstate or an aerterial road and you should be there in less than 30 minutes. While many complain about Eagle Rd traffic the reality is that when it is busy it is an additional 8 minutes to travel time.

9. Affordability

Meridian compared to Boise or Eagle is much more appealing overall in terms of home prices. While all area across Treasure Valley offer upper end and more affordable communities, Meridian is more median oriented.

10. Shiny Happy People

I am always proud to show off where I live. My favorite comment from clients is when they notice how friendly it is. I think just about client is surprised to find that people look them in the face and greet them everywhere they go! My thought of course is that this is how it is supposed to be!
