Labor Day 2019 Activities in Boise Main Treasure Valley Life

Are you curious about what's happening over Labor Day Weekend in Boise? Regardless if you have plans or not, there are many community events to attend and sights to see. Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic 8/28-9/1

Everybody’s favorite balloon festival is back for another year! Get ready for five days of watching hot air balloons get assembled and fly over Boise. Every morning from August 28th to September 1st, crowds of people come to Ann Morrison Park to get an up close look at dozens of hot air balloons take off in one large crowd. The events usually start at 6:45 am and run until the balloons start landing around 8:45 am. Be sure to arrive early to ensure you get a great spot to watch after you get a hot drink and some Spirit of Boise merchandise. Josh Groban at Outlaw Field 8/30 @ 7:30 pm

Josh Groban returns to the Treasure Valley to sing his uplifting and moving music. The concert will be held at Outlaw Field at the Idaho Botanical Gardens. Tickets start at $72. Gates open at 6. Arrive early to try to get a parking spot, or take an Uber, Lyft, or taxi to not worry about parking. Low lawn chairs up to 30 inches tall and blankets are allowed. Food in small coolers and non-alcoholic drinks in non-glass containers are allowed to bring into the venue. Beer and wine are available to purchase at the venue. Don’t miss out on a wonderful performance from an amazing artist!


Boise Hawks vs Hillsboro Hops: 8/31-9/2

The Boise Hawks will finish their season with a three-game home series against the Hillsboro Hops. Tickets start at $8. The Saturday and Sunday games start at 7:15 pm and the Monday game starts at 5:15 pm. Every game this weekend will have a special promotion or giveaway. Following Sunday night’s game will be the final post-game fireworks show of the year. Stick around after the game to enjoy the pyrotechnics display!


Hermit Music Festival 8/29-9/1

The Hermit Music Festival returns to the Indian Creek Winery in Kuna for another year of folk rock, food, craft vendors, and lots of wine. This family-friendly event encourages artistry, discovery, and using local resources. The festival features musical acts from around the region playing blues, country, and folk music. There are workshops and activities for adults, kids, and families The website has the full artist list, vendor list, and parking information. Carpooling is highly encouraged. Tickets range from $30-$60.


Experience Garden City 8/31 12-8 pm

Experience Garden City is an annual one-day event celebrating the vibrant, up-and-coming city. The event runs from Noon to 8 pm on August 31st, and takes over all of 34th Street from Chinden to the Greenbelt. Experience Garden City will feature more than 70 vendors including, beer, wine, food trucks, local artists, kids activities, local businesses, and so much more! In addition, there will be local music acts playing throughout the day. Admission is free, so bring everybody!


Boise State @ Florida State 8/31 @ 5 pm on ESPN

Boise State Football is back! The Broncos look to open their season with a win over Florida State. This game is the first ever matchup between these teams, and is the most important game of the season due to the prominence of the Florida State program. The game will be broadcast on ESPN and kickoff is at 5 pm. If you can’t watch at home, head over to a restaurant with TVs or any bar or sports bar to cheer on the Broncos. Gamedays are always crowded at these places, so get there early.
