Treefort Music Fest is Finally Back!

Main Treasure Valley Life

Finally, after a long wait, the Northwest’s favorite music festival is happening. Treefort Music Fest 9 is taking over Boise September 22-26, 2021. Here is what you need to know.

First and foremost: COVID-19 precautions

Treefort is a huge gathering of thousands of people, from across the country, largely in indoor venues. Because COVID-19 is still a novel fact of life at this point, every precaution is being taken to ensure the safety of the performers, workers, volunteers, and attendees, and to limit the spread of the virus. Treefort has a page devoted to its health and safety precautions. Here are the biggest takeaways

  • Getting vaccinated is the best way to ensure the safety of yourself and those around you, and will make it a lot easier to get into the venues.
  • Alternatively, getting tested for COVID-19 and showing proof of a negative test will help you attend events and shows.
  • Treefort is using the app, My Bindle, to show proof of vaccination status and/or a negative COVID test. The app is a way for you to securely store your vaccination status and COVID tests on an encrypted server. Treefort will use the app to ensure your proof of negative COVID status to help you get into venues faster and easier. Treefort has a step-by-step guide to My Bindle here.
  • Masked will likely be required—or at least strongly recommended—to get into the venues.

Okay. Now that that’s out of the way—Onto the fun stuff!

Treefort Music Fest will operate on largely the same scale that we talked about in March 2020. From 10 am to after Midnight, you can get your fill of music, art, food, beer, skating, yoga, speakers, stores, tech, and more as the festival takes over downtown Boise. There will be nearly 400 musical acts alone! And these aren’t A-list, world-touring acts. The music showcased at Treefort is consisted of small, homegrown talent of people breaking into music and doing it for fun. You never know who you’ll listen to next.

You can view the schedule online here or on the Treefort app, which lets you create your own schedule based on which acts and events you want to attend. It’s really intuitive!

P.S. Here is a multiple festival-goer’s tip. If you choose a band you want to see, get there an act or two before your pick comes on stage, then stay for an act or two after since you are already in the venue. Treefort is all about discovery, and you’ll hear a lot more music that way. See you there!

P.P.S Treefort 10 in 2022 is still scheduled for its normal Spring Break time slot. However, COVID may cause that to change.
