New Year, New Home. Have You Considered A New Construction Home?

Main Treasure Valley Life

The start of a new year is filled with new possibilities. Many people look to the new year as a time to invoke a small or large change in their lives. Couple one of those large changes be a new home? Like a brand-new, never been lived in before, new construction home? There are plenty of advantages when it comes to living in a new construction home.

One of the first few questions your real estate agent will likely ask you is if you want to buy a pre-existing home, a new construction home, or land to build a home. Each has its own perks, but today, we will focus on new construction.

What is a new construction home?

A new construction home is defined as a home that has never been owner-occupied, meaning everything is in pristine condition as the builder built it.

Here is a list of perks of living in a new construction home.

  • Brand new everything: paint, fixtures, appliances, carpet, siding, plumbing. Everything.
  • Everything is under manufacturer and builder warranty
  • Repairs are virtually non-existent for a few years
  • Blank slate to decorate to your own taste.
  • New subdivisions with other similar houses and modern and in-demand amenities like pools, parks, fiber optic internet, fitness centers, and more.
  • New homes are very energy efficient, helping to reduce energy and water consumption, lowering utility bills.

If you are thinking about buying a home and want one in pristine condition, talk to your real estate agent about touring model homes in brand new subdivisions.
