Southeast Boise includes zip codes 83706 and 83716. The area is bordered to the west by the Boise State University Campus, to the north by the Boise River, to the South by Interstate 84, and to the East by the Boise Foothills and HWY 21 inicluding Micron Technology.

The majority of the homes in Southeast Boise were built between 1970 and 2000; therefore, most of properties are in mature neighborhoods with mature trees and landscape. There are still opportunities to purchase new construction, although the inventory of new homes is much smaller then in other areas of Boise. It is a beautiful, quiet, area, stockpiled with desirable amenities and scenic treasures, making it a great place to live, work, and play.

The rest of SE Boise was developed in the last thirty years with suburban style homes. Unlike the more typical flat suburban sprawl, residents of South East Boise are reminded of their city's natural beauty as they catch a close view of Table Rock, or drive along the winding Parkcenter Blvd. along the Boise River. Columbia Village and the older subdivision Oregon Trail Heights, were the first major planned communities in Southeast Boise with an elementary and middle school all within walking distance from all homes.
