Soda Springs is the world's only man-made geyser and is located in Eastern Idaho. It was created in 1937 when drillers searching for thermal water for a heated medicinal pool went down 315 feet unleashing what became known as the Soda Springs geyser. It is one of the few cold-water geysers in the United States. The feature originally spewed freely until it began to affect the geysers at Yellowstone. It has since been capped and placed on a timer. It goes off every hour on the hour.
