Homesites to build custom homes in Boise are getting harder to find. New developments in/ near the city center are largely infill lots and newer developments are now outside the city center as Boise continues to grow. Luxury homesites tend to be elevated and offer views in prime locations. Rarely are building lots near water.

If you are buying a lot in the foothills, don't overlook engineering costs that will be required by city ordinances as part of building a home. As part of purchasing a building lot, it is recommended to have a builder you are considering look at the lot with you and share their concerns.
