About Sweet, ID

Sweet is located between Emmett and Horseshoe Bend along Hwy 52, following the Payette River. Heading north on the Sweet-Ola Highway you follow Squaw Creek through the beautiful valley up to Ola, ID and if you continue you will climb into the mountains and then Sage Hen Reservoir.

If you are looking for a more peaceful location, consider Sweet, ID. Between the rural location and mountain setting, it is a calming place that will connect you to nature as well. The outdoor opportunities range from riding an ATV to hunting grouse, deer, elk and even turkey. Here the coyotes howl at night while the owls hoot and the babbling brook soothes your soul. This is not even a one-stoplight town.

What attracts people to this area?

Most people are looking to escape the big city, yet still need access to shopping or even employment. Many residents have acreage properties and even horses. The opportunities to explore the valley and mountains are vast. From here you can travel by dirt road to Smiths Ferry or Gardena, so there are miles of backroads to explore.  Also, there is the Payette River and Black Canyon Reservoir along Hwy 52.

As you can imagine, it is a very friendly community. There are not many services in town but it is popular to meet at the Triangle Restaurant to catch up and have a great meal. Emmett and Horseshoe Bend are not far for basic shopping and services.
